Importing your reading lists from Goodreads to NotionReads is simple. Just follow the steps as outlined below. You will have full control over the books you’d like to import.

Step 1: Export CSV from Goodreads

• Go to the Import/Export page on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/review/import
• At the top - click on Export Library and wait for the export to finish.

• Once the export is finished, click on it to download it to your computer.

Step 2: Import to NotionReads

• Go to https://www.notionreads.com/goodreads-import

• Upload the Goodreads Export CSV file that you downloaded in Step 1 to NotionReads, by dragging it into the box or clicking browse to select a file

  

• Once you’re good to go, click on the green Import button at the top. You will be redirected to a status page for your import that will also give you an indication of how long your import will take. The imports happen on our server, so you can safely close this window. If you want to check the status of your import later, make sure to save the link to the page.

  

• For fun, you can watch your books magically appear on your NotionReads Bookshelf

Step 3: Review the Import

• Once the import is finished, you will see a summary on the status page (the page you were redirected to when clicking Import). Here you will see, how many books were successfully imported.

Sometimes, based on the data in the Goodreads export, we can’t find the correct cover photo or other data that is missing (i.e. the ISBN). Books where this happened or that couldn’t be uploaded will be shown on the status page. (This can be due to different errors, sometimes Goodreads exports wrong ISBNs or missing information. Please try adding these books manually).
